About this artwork
In this work, I chose to give the flowerpot, rather than the bouquet, the central place. The flowers naturally capture the eye with their brilliance and beauty, while the discreet pot remains in the shadows. Yet, it is the pot that supports them, protects them, and allows them to grow.
This silent pot then becomes a symbol of the parents: present without noise, working tirelessly, they provide their children with the roots necessary to grow. Like… the flowerpot, they do not seek the light, but without it, no blossoming would be possible.
Hakim Tounsi, born in Algeria and a graduate in visual communication, paints with passion, drawing inspiration from North African architecture. He skillfully blends semi-figurative style, realistic compositions, and stylized motifs, revisiting medinas and Moorish ornamentation with a contemporary aesthetic. His work invites silent contemplation, evoking memory, time, and a profound dialogue between past and present.
