About this artwork
With this work, I explore the inner duality and the invisible aspects of our humanity.
Two figures coexist, linked and separate, like two parts of the same being in tension.
At the center, a form of momentum appears: a progression, an attempt at elevation. A line advances towards a ladder, like a metaphor for the path that each person takes to extract themselves, evolve or simply maintain their balance.
The whole evokes this fragile space where… one oscillates between separation and connection, fall and elevation.
Hassan Zanoune, a self-taught artist, explores various mediums such as watercolor, oil, and clay. He uses a dreamlike figurative technique and often draws inspiration from the human body. His creations, often dominated by blue tones, depict humankind, the environment, and emotion, offering a visual discourse on the connection between men and women, our planet, and our society. The powerful emotion felt in his works is a testament to his world of introspection, reverie, and colorful balance.
