About this artwork
"The green island" describes the emerging zest for life in spring here in Northern Germany. Here in spring the sky is high again over the flat fields and the fresh spring colors of the landscape play wonderfully with the blue of the sky and the white of the fast moving clouds. This spring mood over the islands of the Wadden Sea inspired me to create this spontaneously sketched motif. This lively painting was created with an impulsive brush stroke…
and a light application of paint in several glazes. It conveys to the viewer that happy mood of spring that we all know from our childhood. It is about happiness, spring feeling and freedom.
