About this artwork
Here in northern Europe, the sun is low on the horizon during the dark season and only rarely can it illuminate landscapes and nature in strong colours. Long shadows in the few hours of daylight and often colorless gray characterize the mood. We long for warmth and light during this time and look forward to every ray of sunshine and its warmth on clear days. But the subtle colors of this season also have their special appeal. They soothe our senses… on our walks by the sea, when the horizon and sky merge seamlessly in the soft light. This is what the "winter colors" describe and reflect in light abstraction, color and shape. They leave the art viewer the freedom to wander and feel in this sphere himself. "Winter colors" are two paintings of the same format with the same subject (winter colors 1 - 2).
« I want to be creative and experience creativity. Therefore I paint what I feel and with great tension, I look at what surrounds me. »
Hasso Heybrock is an artist based in Germany who has exhibited his works nationally, as well as in Denmark, Italy, and Spain. He believes that looking at a painting means walking into an unknown adventure through the picture, where hidden emotions come to the surface. For Heybrock, making the adventure as intense and exciting as possible for the viewer is his main challenge as a painter.
