About this artwork

A Peaceful mind is a blue minimal contemplative work that celebrates simplicity, light and color. The natural blue tones exude an atmosphere of peacefulness. The image is nothing but countless lines, flecks, dots and splatters that weave together a vibrating tapestry. The subdued warm blues, violets and turquoises offer the mind refuge - a sanctuary from one's busy, stressful thoughts. The canvas is textured with silica glass and gesso giving it… a pleasing tactility. The sides are painted dark blue-black. The painting can be hung both vertically and horizontally.

Heidi Thompson is an experienced Canadian painter who has exhibited her work in the US, Canada and Switzerland. She originally started out as a figurative painter striving to express the human condition, but soon decided to move away from the darkness and suffering she found herself portraying to a colorful abstract style full of hope, light and beauty. Today, she creates a bold and colorful 'Multicolours' series, as well as minimalist works that reflect the style of 'Monochrome Energy Fields.'
