About this artwork
Eternal night evokes feelings of mystery, peacefulness and eternity. The field of dark blue resembles a night sky. Its surface is textured and the image is built up with countless delicate flecks and lines which create a woven tapestry of colour. The energized field of blue is contained with a dark vignette of almost black. The work may be displayed both vertically or horizontally.

Heidi Thompson is an experienced Canadian painter who has exhibited her work in the US, Canada and Switzerland. She originally started out as a figurative painter striving to express the human condition, but soon decided to move away from the darkness and suffering she found herself portraying to a colorful abstract style full of hope, light and beauty. Today, she creates a bold and colorful 'Multicolours' series, as well as minimalist works that reflect the style of 'Monochrome Energy Fields.'
