About this artwork

In this abstract acrylic painting I strove to capture the mesmerizing interplay of light and texture, inviting viewers to step into a radiant, transformative experience. Inspired by the organic forms found in nature, the composition glows with a harmonious spectrum of warm oranges, fiery reds, golden yellows, and cool teal blues. These colors converge like a sunrise breaking through the mist, evoking a sense of awe and renewal.
The textured surface,… created with silica sand and gesso, brings the painting to life, creating depth and movement that shifts with the light. The rough, organic texture mimics the intricate patterns of weathered earth or sunlit foliage, grounding the ethereal brilliance in natural forms.

Heidi Thompson is an experienced Canadian painter who has exhibited her work in the US, Canada and Switzerland. She originally started out as a figurative painter striving to express the human condition, but soon decided to move away from the darkness and suffering she found herself portraying to a colorful abstract style full of hope, light and beauty. Today, she creates a bold and colorful 'Multicolours' series, as well as minimalist works that reflect the style of 'Monochrome Energy Fields.'
