About this artwork
Series "Small Seascapes", Under Water One, 3/2023, acrylic paint on canvas, 20 x 20 cm, shadow gap frame, black wood, 24 x 24 cm
In this work, I experimented with acrylic paints to depict the depth and complexity of emotions. The abstract and expressionistic approach allows the viewer to project their own interpretations and feelings into what they see. The cool blue tones blend with abrupt shadows and smooth transitions, creating a dynamic yet… calming atmosphere. This painting is intended to inspire quiet reflection and inner search, perfect for a quiet retreat at home. (Generated description)
My artistic work always focuses on the intermedial production processes with their investigations, trials, errors, and repetitions—detached from a concrete result. Many small decisions regarding materials, tools, and their application enable transformations that open up a space for experience and understanding that has become essential to me. This space allows me to be mindful and clear in the here and now, to feel the interplay of control and letting go, and to experience an inner form of freedom. The passage of time becomes visible in the artwork through the traces of the individual process steps and can tell very personal stories. My love for the Baltic Sea led me to marine conservation, which I address and support in my artistic work. My aim is to provide a sensory connection to the necessary measures for a protective relationship with the Baltic Sea.
