About this artwork
I’m working on a big exhibition. Really big. A few days ago, I was back at the Museum of Modern Art. Huge paintings,.. absolutely impressive, great guy. But to be honest, size is always impressive. There was something about his hands. I think he didn’t have any… or they’d fallen off. Or maybe he’d broken an arm. But he caught me,.that “is this good or is this bad” boundary. I don’t care whether someone can paint or not. It was good, it was a lot,… it was huge, but it wasn’t new. There was no personal touch. And it was dark. Well, some people paint mental confusion, and others are mentally confused and write about it.
Heinz Seidenbusch, trained in textile design in Salzburg, works primarily with ink, acrylic, and oil paint, drawing from his painterly background after a musical detour. His techniques span abstraction and surrealism, marked by architectural forms, dreamlike drawings, and the visual condensation of fleeting perceptions. Through bold lines and unexpected visual narratives, he seeks to break visual habits and evoke a sense of movement, discovery, and philosophical curiosity, imbuing his art with the thrill of encountering the new in the everyday.
