The river in the painting is like time, which inexorably continues on its way, changing people's faces, thoughts and destinies.
When you are at a young age, time seems eternal, slow and endlessly stretched. Days are filled with bright colors, and the expectation of the future stirs the soul. It seems that there is a whole eternity ahead, and you can take your time, you can linger in this moment, absorbing every feeling, every new experience.
But… the older you get, the faster this river flows. At first barely noticeable, then - more rapidly, until one day you realize that childhood is far behind you, and youth has been replaced by maturity. The gaze, which used to be directed into dreams, now turns back to the place where children's laughter sounded, where sunlight seemed brighter and summer lasted a lifetime.
