About this artwork
This work, the first of 2026, reflects my "geometric abstraction" inspiration, a recurring theme in my creations. A figurative allusion is inserted at its center, nestled within the warm palette of the canvas, avoiding cool colors in shades of purple, black, and blue.
The nfinart signature, worn like a pattern and legible in places, runs throughout the entire work.
Hélène David-Dubrana's artistic journey (https://helenedavid.com) extends her scientific path. Formerly head of a university laboratory dedicated to plant cell walls, she has transposed the fundamental cycles of research—reflection and experimentation—into art. Plant fiber forms the link between these two worlds. Transformed, combed, and structured, the fiber becomes the medium for her works. Impregnated with dark pigments, it captures light and generates vibrant blacks. Impregnated with bright colors, it transforms them. The artist explores abstraction and allusive figuration, while placing nature and humanity at the heart of her reflection on their shared ecosystem. This transdisciplinary approach, brought together under the concept of NFinArt (Natural Fiber in Art), has resulted in various national and international exhibitions and the publication of a book (ISBN: 979.10.415.6582.5), reflecting a desire to share knowledge and foster dialogue between science and art.
