About this artwork
Exciting stories captivate us every day... What is true and what is deception? An abundance of images, headlines and sensations literally overwhelms you. Does this correspond approximately to the facts or is it the clever move of the “narrator” in the eternal hunt for ratings, likes and influence? At what point do we stop asking questions?
A young monkey as a symbol of the unbiased perception of events.

Helene Mantei is a painter, draftsman, and sculptor based in Germany whose works have been featued in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally. Dedicating her art to people, she translates their complex natures and emotional worlds into her compositions. Through metaphors and symbolism, Mantei introduces ideas and questions to the viewer, which they can only answer for themselves.
