This is one of my first composite paintings; in fact, it features a T-shirt inside the painting. Both the black figure and the word "BAD MAD" were not made by me but were used to create the painting. The colors are dense and the texture is very lively. This painting was created on the back of a painting I had done but didn't like; the unfinished work is visible on the back.
The work is accompanied by a simple aluminum frame that shows signs of age… but can be easily replaced if desired.
The work is in all respects an acrylic on MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), painted with final acrylic varnish.
It measures 1000 x 70 cm.
Its title is "BAD MAD" and its Normoid archive number is #0051
Herman Normoid comes from a background in cultural heritage restoration and uses mixed media ranging from pure-pigment acrylics to large- and medium-format graffiti on stucco. His style originates from the informal, evolving into a loosely controlled formality, characterized by the exclusive use of large, flat palette knives and steel tips, for intense, textured paintings. His works convey an instinctive energy rooted in the subconscious, allowing emotion and spontaneity to guide both the creation and the viewer's experience.
