About this artwork
Studio 54 in New York was one of the most famous nightclubs in the world. It was located at 254 West 54th Street, between Eighth Avenue and Broadway in Midtown Manhattan. It existed with one interruption from 1977 to 1986. The picture is half analogue and half digitally painted, then digitally combined on canvas, mounted on a 4 cm thick stretcher frame and a stable wooden cross on the back, finally finished with acrylic paint. Digital and analogue painting, Mühlbauer-Gardemin has mastered many techniques. Born on the North Sea coast and creative from childhood. At the age of 3, Mühlbauer-Gardemin picked up the pencil for the first time to draw his first picture. Today one would say: Art has always been in his blood and is now anchored in his DNA. In order to let his mind run free, Mühlbauer-Gardemin studied painting and graphic design in Bremen and then worked for various agencies and publishers. In 1996, self-employment finally followed. The nucleus of his art: a spacious studio in Wilhelmshaven.
