About this artwork
This sculptural piece was created when I was at an art retreat for 2 weeks on the coast of Maine. I was very inspired by the colors and forms of the rocky landscape I was experiencing there. The work is comprised of a collage on vinyl that was cut into strips and maintaining the intended coloration, was threaded back together using cut plastic straws inserted as spacers. The pieces threads are then gathered at the top create this mollusk like…
