About this artwork
I draw inspiration from the erosions, stains, etchings and crumblings on walls and surfaces. In these textures, I see messages and images ; it is serendipity and pareidolia at work
My starting point with this piece was finding a peeling painted metal door that had a white broken disk vent at the top; it was clearly a crescent moon over a rural landscape. By overlaying multiple images, wild flowers, webbed sticky tape, an actual landscape and a deer… I was able to expose an environmental narrative highlighting on going mindfulness to return natures balance and harmony to our planet.
