About this artwork
"Blizzard Monochrome" is a medium-sized painting that captures the depth of cold, to the point of almost erasing all colors, leaving only subtle shades. This nearly abstract work is the result of my desire to regularly part ways with a significant part of my artistic research—the use of colors—in order to focus more on the interplay of lines and shapes, which, for me, represent the fundamental artistic exploration tied to the phenomena of drawing…
alone. It seeks to depict a calm after a wintry ice storm.
The various textures are achieved through the use of brushes and painting knives, adding a tactile dimension to this composition of strange, abstract impressions.
This unique piece—exclusively born from my imagination—will, I hope, bring a touch of mystery and restored tranquility to one of your living spaces! (Perhaps next to a beautiful fireplace? :)

Ignacio Caballero forged his artistic path 35 years ago in Toulouse (France), training artistically for 7 years at the Lycée d'Arts-Plastiques and then at the Beaux-Arts; and subsequently becoming an emeritus professor of Classical Drawing and Modern and Contemporary Painting in major art schools and cultural associations.
For the past 40 years, he has regularly held numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the south of France. He is one of the very few contemporary artists to explore diverse forms of free and contemporary expression, across all subjects in the history of art: landscapes, portraits, figures, nudes, and still lifes, combining the beauties of the figurative with those of the abstract.
To achieve this, he magically merges all his personal techniques with his intuitive strengths.
Thus, Caballero offers works of great depth AND joy of life, which invite the viewer to share his questions and vivid emotions!
