About this artwork
This painting is about the story of Peter’s attempt to walk on water. It reveals our human nature — in moments of danger, we forget about the divine resource. But even more often, we forget about Him when things are going well, and it seems everything is going according to our plan. This kind of danger is far more insidious and has more serious consequences. In most cases, God has to save us from ourselves (Matthew 14:30).
Igor Piddubnyi is a Ukrainian painter with roots in independent artistic exploration, refined by years of training at Yana Antonova’s Private Art School in Kyiv. His signature divisionist style features bold, separated patches of color and richly textured impasto strokes, creating vibrating, luminous effects in his landscapes and figures. Through his art, he conveys awe for overlooked moments, inviting viewers to reflect deeply on the simple yet profound beauty of everyday life.
