About this artwork
I put a lot into this piece, mixing acrylic, pastel, graffiti, resin, and plaster to build up layers of color and texture. It’s abstract and a bit chaotic, but that’s the point—it reflects emotion in motion. The painting has a strong, lively feel and brings a bold, creative energy into any space.

Ilona Hendriks is an artist based in The Netherlands with exposure in several galleries in Europe. With movement as her main source of inspiration she realizes semi-abstract, expressive and daring paintings with a combination of thick structured strokes and soft- gentle flows of paint. Using “the moment” #painthappens and most of all trusting the process. Many interpenetrating layers to achieve the desired effect with vivid colours. In her series “woman power” Ilona uses a method of painting in which abstraction and figurative images combine and reinforce each other's effect. She uses premium acrylics in combination with thick medium & sand on linnen canvas.
