About this artwork
Wanting to level up, many people remain in the flat, comfortable but sterile place represented as a salt pan, they observe those who begin to climb the stairs but stop at the first steps, others continue each at their own pace. On the left side I placed a glittering city as the ideal final destination, a place to "reside" with joy and satisfaction. The stairs are symbolic, a means of elevation that can be two-way both for the ascent and for the descent.… The level reached must be maintained with determination. For me it represents the level of personal consciousness but everyone can decide what is for themselves "the final value".
Iolanda Bocelli, a talented self-taught artist, expresses her creativity through acrylics, tempera, watercolors and sculpture, having studied at the Istituto d'Arte Gazzola in Piacenza. Favoring styles that combine Surrealism, Futurism and Dadaism, she enchants with her works that blend collage techniques with the use of acrylic colors and enamels. In each detail, Bocelli releases emotions and thoughts, through a game of imaginative transformation, opening doors to enchanted worlds.
