About this artwork
In this piece, I dove into the rhythmic chaos of nature meeting urbanity. Using acrylics and watercolors, I painted a vibrant scene where shadows and light dance under stormy skies. The vintage and semi-abstract styles convey a sense of nostalgic unrest, while the quick strokes and comic flair invite viewers to a surreal party on the left side of the painting.
On the right side, wolves are free to roam and be themselves. The stream of old pink water… in the middle washes both worlds, suggesting the mutual relationship between nature and culture, environment and civil transformation. This artwork would splash a room with deep color and dynamic energy.
I rescued the octagonal cardboard from the logistic department of a world-renowned sportswear company. The print says "Regelmäßig Reinigen" (German for clean regularly).
Coming from a background of philosophy and cognitive science, Irene makes use of materials provided by the logistic world she works in, using found cardboard as her canvas. She employs watercolor inks and acrylics to paint serene landscapes, letting the surface's incidental cracks, rips, or prints guide her compositions. Her work, often influenced by natural environments and non-human beings, conveys themes of hope and resilience in uncertain times.
