About this artwork
“Along the Edge” is an original acrylic painting from the Edible Headlines series, where culinary subjects are transformed into visual narratives through the interplay of realism, composition, and printed text.
The painting features the head and tail of a fresh fish positioned along one side of the composition, creating a striking sense of balance and asymmetry. This deliberate arrangement draws attention to form, texture, and movement, inviting… the viewer to engage with the subject as both a familiar culinary element and a carefully framed visual story.
Painted in acrylic on canvas board decoupaged with real newspaper, the work combines detailed realism with the layered presence of printed text beneath the painted surface. Fragments of headlines remain subtly visible, reinforcing the central concept of the series: just as newspapers present selected stories within their margins, these paintings highlight quiet moments of everyday life and elevate them into subjects of contemplation.
