About this artwork
Urban situation, painted on the street in my neighborhood. The season with its short and cool sunny days was perfect for sketching outside with the field easel. Slanting spring light, intense blue, yellow and reddish brown tones. Oil and oil pastel on canvas, fixed with varnish. Ready to hang.

Irina Seller is a significant painter, raised with a pure passion for art. Through her work with oil, acrylic, and tempera paints, she explores post-Impressionism, magical realism, and modern expressionism. Her techniques are dramatic, serene, powerful, subtle, joyful, and dark, creating a powerful visual language. Irina Seller's artworks are strongly autobiographical and, with their mythological figures, evoke an exaggerated yet authentic emotional depth.
