About this artwork
In my oil painting I capture a profound moment of community and spiritual sharing. The scene depicts a teaching situation in which a central figure shares her message with arms outstretched. The audience gathered around her, wrapped in warm, earthy tones, look up expectantly and are visibly engrossed in what is being said. This work reflects the essence of human connection and spiritual quest, bringing an atmosphere of reflection and inspiration… to any home.
The first community may have looked similar, except that there were many more participants.
Iris Hillmeister-Becker is a painter and architect who specializes in traditional media such as oil, colored pencil and oil pastel. Using a naturalistic style, she strives to interpret the content of church paintings in an understandable way while still leaving room for change; her work does not have to be photorealistic. Her art, characterized by strong colors and flowing forms, conveys her personal Christian conviction and fascination with images of churches.
