For some, legacy is an inherited trauma and discrimination; for others, wealth and a predefined path.
We are all born different, but have the same legacy we have not asked for.
Shall we allow our roots to design our today and future? To what extent are we obliged to appreciate the legacy of our ancestors? How do we define what should be kept?
Conservation is a key to consistency - we admire the same panettone and pasta recipe, but we use a… washing machine and grocery-cooked meal for our dinner.
Heritage empowers us with a sense of belonging to something bigger than we can produce through the course of our lives. The same is true for a traumatic experience, which drowns us in pain and regrets instead of becoming an inflection point for a powerful transformation.
