About this artwork
My work explores access to the deepest layers of the Self — how we navigate this and other dimensions of existence, and how we relate to our own light and shadow. I am driven by a profound desire to invite viewers to recognize a fundamental truth: that we are, in essence, light, and that this light can be consciously directed toward both personal growth and the well-being of others.
My creative process emerges through dreams, inner states, emotions,… and reflection. I inhabit each work intensely before bringing it into material form. Intuition plays a central role in my practice, allowing the composition to unfold organically and, at times, with a certain immediacy.
Painted in oil, the composition unfolds through layered tonal transitions, where shadow does not extinguish light but rather reveals its depth. The glowing horizon hints at an ever-present source that remains accessible, even when partially concealed.
Isabella D’Elia, a Brazilian visual artist with a rich background in industrial design, fashion, and photography, works across painting—oil pastels, acrylics, and digital media. She masterfully blends manual gestures with poetic exploration of human existence, layering texture and line to evoke the invisible and the ephemeral. Through her intimate, conceptual style, Isabella’s art channels the deep complexity of the spirit, inviting viewers to contemplate transformation, light, and the profound beauty of the human journey.
