About this artwork
Jack was a simple, poor mechanic, while Eleanor was the daughter of a wealthy father. Jack had a dream: to build a masterpiece, a golden Impala, and carry them both away to another world. They planned to escape to California, far from the class barriers of her family. But their love was threatened, and Eleanor was forced to submit to her father’s demands to protect the man she loved, leaving forever for a secluded college.
This painting captures… the moment of their final rupture. Jack waits for hours by the cliff for his Eleanor, but he will never see her again. The gold of the car's body melts from the heat and despair, turning the American Dream into a distorted mirage. The triple taillights glow in the void like three parting tears for a love that was never given a chance.
