Born from reflections on the ongoing wars and the question of forgiveness—this work captures a deeply emotional moment of transition. It portrays the fleeting passage between two worlds: a moment when suffering has ended, yet its trace remains etched on the face, even as the soul ascends to reunite with the source.
The red and blue colours symbolize the eternal contrast of powers, yet the timeless questions persist: What does it mean to be human?… Do we all deserve salvation, despite our conscious or unconscious complicity in the cycles of harm and destruction?
This painting, created on raw linen canvas with acrylic paint and sustainably pigmented dry pastels, blends tradition and innovation. My style in this series bridges the sacred essence of Byzantine iconography with contemporary elements.
