About this artwork
During a stay in Paris, I visited the museum in the Petit Palais. In the courtyard, I was struck by the view of the dome, complemented by the vibrant green in the foreground. Back in my Nuremberg studio, I let the memory of the atmosphere of that place sink in and searched for a suitable color interpretation. I ultimately chose a soft pink hue, which, in combination with the green, best captured the atmosphere for me. For me, colors always express…
the feelings a place evokes—every place speaks its own color language. This painting is therefore not an arbitrary representation, but an authentic color translation of my perception and mood at that precise place and at that time.
