About this artwork
During a late summer stroll along Timmendorfer Strand, I was struck by the vibrant orange beach chairs, hidden like small islands of color among the dense dune grass. Their warm glow contrasted charmingly with the cool blue of the Baltic Sea, while in the background, the elegant silhouette of the Seeschlösschen Bridge framed the horizon.
It was precisely this moment—the interweaving of nature and architecture, of tranquility and vitality—that inspired… my artistic interpretation. The beach chairs appear almost like protective beings settling into the expanse of the beach, simultaneously inviting and mysterious. The thicket of grass reinforces their secrecy, as if one were stumbling upon a scene intended only for the viewer.
I captured and exaggerated this mood in expressive, fauvist colors and energetic brushstrokes to make the intensity of the moment tangible.
