About this artwork
“Ruins on the Canyon” presents itself exactly as a fractal in dialogue with the other earthworks.
It's a crack within the cracks, as if we enlarged a crack in the material and found another world, in this case the remains of an ancient civilization.
Its depth breaks through the canvas in all dimensions, it is an aerial perspective that brings the viewer to be on that edge.
The cracked earth creates the debris that collapsed from the high walls,… depositing itself on the bed of a now arid river. The warm embrace of earthy tones blends with enigmatic structures, evoking a profound contemplation on lost civilizations and their unbreakable bond with nature. It will be a source of energy and mystery, a constant invitation to reflect on the impermanence and beauty of the ruins of time.
Jacopo Berlendis, architect and painter, explores the fusion between design and art by cultivating natural and transformative themes. He uses earth and vegetation, modeling them in three-dimensional works which with acrylics and pigments interpret landscapes animated by a powerful physicality. His creations evoke a feeling of regeneration, revealing underground worlds of sublime material metamorphosis.
