About this artwork
A double technique combining acrylic paint and collage made from discarded papers. In this vibrant work, I wanted to capture the harmonious chaos of life through a bold mix of acrylic and collage. Each colorful fragment symbolizes a story, an emotion, a fleeting moment. The dynamic energy emanating from this abstract composition will fill your space with intense vitality, evoking both diversity and unity. It is a celebration of the constant movement… and multifaceted nature of our existence. Finally, and importantly, the idea of repurposing old papers into a work of art appeals to me. A painting, a distillation of life, to be contemplated with relish, much like yoga and meditation, practices I have joyfully and calmly embraced for some thirty years.
Born in 1968, Jacques is an experienced artist. In 1993, having become a certified mathematics teacher in a secondary school, he realized that his future lay elsewhere: in his passion for art. Jacques became a professional painter in 1997. The theme of feelings is central to his work. Thus, each collage creates a visual rhythm embodying the complexity of emotions and feelings in our intertwined lives. Each fragment becomes a thought, and together they form a kind of meditative, colorful tapestry. Meditation and yoga, incidentally, are practices that Jacques has assiduously pursued for years. Finally, Jacques loves this simple fact: diverting old magazine papers destined for the landfill to make, almost eternally, contemporary works of art. A bit of a nonconformist, Jacques draws on his personal origins, which were rather very poor, for the seeds of his creation.
