About this artwork
THE DRAWING SHOWS THE STORY OF A YOUNG BULLFIGHTER CALLED BERNABÉ WHO WAS VERY COURAGEOUS AGAINST THE BULLS BUT WAS AFRAID OF THE DOGS. IT ALL STARTED WHEN AS A CHILD, HE HAD A RECURRING DREAM IN WHICH A DOG WAS CHASING HIM. BARNABAS WAS FEARED AND PHOBIAS TOWARDS DOGS UNTIL ONE OCTOBER AFTERNOON A DOG CHASED HIM FOR NO APPARENT REASON. WITH THIS, BARNABÉ STOPPED FEARING DOGS, BECAUSE IT WAS MORE DANGEROUS TO BE IN FRONT OF A BULL.

« Not everyone who sings is a singer. Also, not everyone who paints is a painter in the same way that not every painter is an artist. You must have talent, creativity, and discipline. »
Jaime Lupercio is a prize-winning painter and printmaker who resides in Mexico. His works have been widely exhibited nationally, as well as in Ecuador, Switzerland, Italy, and the United States. He describes the themes of his compositions as extremely varied, including the neighbor's dog, to the night magic of the caves in the Arcanos. Lupercio's style is defined within Neo-Mexicanism and magical realism which is dictated by the forms, colors, and themes used.
