About this artwork
This artwork is part of a series of works that were inspired by various artists and the act of creating. Through focusing on just a few colours the artist tries to almost narrow it down to only a few simple aspects of creativity, allowing one to enjoy the uniqueness thereof. This particular painting draws its inspiration from the artist Ushio Shinohara who applied paint onto a surface using boxing gloves.

Janna Prinsloo is a South African artist who has exhibited widely both nationally and internationally. Prinsloo was raised in a family of artists making her passion for art instinctive and fundamental. Her paintings release a real sense of optimism and hope as Prinsloo seeks to explore innermost human feelings. Oil on board is Prinsloo's favourite medium as this enables her to create texture and depth. All of her paintings include a focal figure surrounded by an abstract colour field, as a result her art has an entrancing and personal quality.
