About this artwork
In the wonderful Champagne district in France, in addition to enjoying the delicious drops in the glass - which in itself is fantastic - you can also enjoy the beautiful landscapes with green colors in an infinite number of shades. In these landscapes, the houses are beautifully located and invite and inspire to be reproduced on a canvas. Based on the view from the small cozy town of Chattillon-sur-Marne by the square where the large statue of Pope… Urban II is enthroned, Janni Nyby has found inspiration for this painting. If you visit this place yourself, you will hardly be able to stand in a certain place and think that this is exactly where she got the inspiration from, but when you look at the whole area, you will undoubtedly find a number of the various elements Janni Nyby has included in the painting. Since it is not a one-to-one rendering, you as a viewer will also be able to experience that your associations go to other areas, and it is this "expansion" that Janni Nyby loves.
« I paint colorful nature and landscape abstractions, which I invite the viewer to explore. I get inspiration from nature's incredible colors, shapes and elements. »
Janni Nyby is a Danish contemporary artist whose practice explores the dynamic intersection between abstraction and subtle figuration. Her works are defined by an expressive, color‑driven visual language, where intuitive layers of movement and energy create a powerful sense of presence. She deliberately works without titles to offer viewers complete interpretive freedom, allowing each piece to function as an open, sensory space rather than a predetermined narrative.
Based in Aalborg, she runs Galleri Janni Nyby, a professional exhibition space and creative hub reflecting her artistic universe. She exhibits regularly in major international art cities such as Paris, Florence, Venice, Barcelona, Berlin, New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, where her distinctive visual voice meets a global audience. Nyby’s practice is driven by an ongoing investigation into the force of color, the poetry of materiality, and the emotional resonance that emerges between artwork and viewer.
