About this artwork
LE PROFIL is a limited edition bronze work. It consists of seeing the profiles of things. In this case, it is the profile of a shoulder blade bone. It is a study carried out over many years on everyday objects, giving another view of the elements. I am very interested in Cycladic sculptures and rock art, which influence my work.

Jean-Baptiste Van den Heede is a designer based in Spain whose pieces have been exhibited nationally and in Belgium. With a background in woodworking as well as in art and design, his creative practice is inspired by the symbols of pre-history and its people. Van den Heede valorizes "noble materials" without transforming them, often employing wood, stone, metal, fabric, or marble in his distinctive works.
