This work was born from a moment of inner tension and extreme concentration.
I worked with the urgency of the gesture, letting the energy flow freely onto the paper. The splashes, the intersecting lines, and the bursts of color convey a need for intensity,… almost physical. Nothing is controlled in detail; everything is felt.
I sought to capture a vibration, a raw inner state, unfiltered, carried solely by the movement and momentum of the moment.

𝗝𝗲𝗮𝗻-𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲, a polymorphic and passionate self-taught artist, has been developing his artistic language for over forty years in total freedom, outside of academic frameworks.
After figurative beginnings influenced by Fauvism and Expressionism, his discovery of Chinese ink and Asian avant-garde calligraphy acted as a trigger that steered him towards a gestural, instinctive and emotional abstraction.
His work always originates from an inner state: nothing is programmed, everything arises from movement and the sincerity of the gesture.
In his works, strength and restraint intersect, matter flows freely, and energy seems to unfold. He seeks less to convey a message than to let the painting touch directly, without words, through the intensity of its presence.
