About this artwork
Here is the effigy of a woman who has crossed all seas, faced all oceans, braved all storms and flat calm, and came back "full of use and reason" ... If you will to see what she went through, you just have to modulate her body and observe everything she will show you.
But what she shows, on reflection, is it what she experienced or what you are doing to her - in all honor?
To think about it you have thousands of possibilities of new forms under… your fingers, so a lot of time ... The lady will never complain and your patience will reward you!
It is composed of 150 modular elements of three different woods: mahogany, sycamore and pine, polished waxed

« "With the modularity of my sculptures, the spectator/collector is no longer just "looking". They become actors. I wrote the score, they become my interpreters." »
Jean Paul Boyer’s sculptures have been exhibited throughout his native France, Europe and China. Boyer continuously questions how to work with the air, or the “void”, that surrounds the material of the sculpture. He denies having a style, and allows himself the freedom to delve into all interpretations and techniques. His process starts by fabricating a model with any material he happens to have on hand, then the works evolve using wood, metal, marble, cardboard, etc.
