About this artwork

A small sculpture once abandoned at the back of the workshop, rediscovered and made visible after dusting and painting. A small modular sculpture which can just as easily hang from the ceiling and fly in the air, as walk on a piece of furniture or a base , head up, head down, your choice. Jean Paul Boyer’s sculptures have been exhibited throughout his native France, Europe and China. Boyer continuously questions how to work with the air, or the “void”, that surrounds the material of the sculpture. His process starts by fabricating a model with any material he happens to have on hand, then the works evolve using wood, metal, marble, cardboard, etc.
