About this artwork
Scene of life: a young woman sitting on the edge of a fountain, in a small square in a village in Provence.
The light illuminates the model from the front but it turns its back on us so that the part of the white skirt in the sun merges with the edge of the fountain.
Another spot of light is formed by the top and the left of the head, some hair escapes from the blonde braid to sparkle in the sun.
The background is formed by patches of warm… gray except the cold, bluish ground.
