The Three Glasses is a contemporary still life where the strength of the colors plays a central role.
The intense red background structures the composition, reminiscent of a curtain or a partition that encloses the scene.
In the foreground, a massive, luminous white carafe immediately catches the eye.
At its sides, three thin, slender glasses stand like aligned figures, bringing the title to life.
An orange and some dark fruits complete the table,… evoking the simplicity and conviviality of the meal.
The tablecloth, worked with quick, impasto touches, brings an additional vibration.
A few dark green hanging leaves contrast sharply with the whole and suggest nature.
The painting thus combines geometry and spontaneity, rigor of lines and bursts of material.

Jean-Pierre Borderie is an artist based in France whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Belgium. His works are inspired by rides, the scenes of city life, as well outdoor interiors, that enlarge spaces and give them breathing room. In addition, he is entranced by southern landscpaes filled with sunshine. His vibrant compositions are created using acrylics on canvas.
