About this artwork
In “Evening at Cap-Ferret”, the night is adorned with a visual symphony in homage to the beauty of the Arcachon Basin. The silver glow of the moon competes with the warm glow of a lamp placed on a table which becomes the scene of an enchanting gastronomic scene.
In the foreground, a seafood platter sits like a work of culinary art, its marine treasures offered for contemplation. Shells glisten in the light, revealing a palette of shapes and colors,… while a bottle of wine, glasses and utensils celebrate the pleasure of tasting.
In the background, the imposing silhouette of the Dune du Pilât emerges, framing the Arcachon Bay in soft darkness. The reflections of Arcachon's lights dance on the calm waters, creating a nocturnal canvas of ineffable beauty.

Jean-Pierre Borderie is an artist based in France whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Belgium. His works are inspired by rides, the scenes of city life, as well outdoor interiors, that enlarge spaces and give them breathing room. In addition, he is entranced by southern landscpaes filled with sunshine. His vibrant compositions are created using acrylics on canvas.
