About this artwork
This excisite triptych is inspired by the old master Gerard Dou's painting "De Kraamkamer". This lost masterpiece has been given a new perspective by the artist. A combination of symbols and scenes depicting learning, developping and growing in life. The painting has been bought by a school in the Netherlands. A fitting place to inspire many youngsters.
Jeanne-Marie Hament is a painter and sculptor whose artistic path wove through academies in Den Haag, Colombia, and Amsterdam before she embraced her own intuitive creative process. She creates semi-abstract figures, inspired by Egyptian symbolism, Art Deco, and the Amsterdamse School, blending recognizable forms with expressive abstraction. Her work powerfully explores the universal longing for connection, offering viewers recognition, beauty, and comfort.
