About this artwork
Many of my drawings are depictions of an intangible world, even though they consist of recognizable, concrete forms. Paraphrasing Origen's "The visible world makes the invisible world recognizable...", one could say that every vision exists in other dimensions.
Words—like their associations—can carry meanings of possible, yet unexperienced things, which take shape through the power of imagination. This happens because both word and image possess… symbolic character. To illustrate this, I would like to quote Paul Klee (Confessio Operatoria, 1918):
"THE SYMBOLS COMFORT THE SPIRIT
and teach him that earthly realities are not his only possibility.
Art plays innocently with the highest things and yet ultimately reaches them."

I am a fantasist par excellence (to paraphrase Dalí).
Specific data from my life:
I was born in Cluj-Napoca, studied fine arts for eight years and was subsequently active with my traveling theatre Fabularia until 1989, when I had to leave the country with my family because of my political opposition activities.
We settled in Austria, but in the last ten years my wife and I have settled in Hungary.
I continued my theatre work until 2010, with many performances in Austria and Italy. In the meantime, I wrote a lot – diaries, manuscripts, and books.
Since 2010 I have finally been able to dedicate myself to my calling, which I have cultivated since high school: painting.
I have had exhibitions in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Russia – and last year my first solo exhibition in Cluj-Napoca, my hometown, which I left 35 years ago.
