About this artwork
This work was inspired by a visit to the Alex Katz exhibition. The exhibition was a retrospective on the American painter (New York, 1927), one of the main figures in the history of American art of the 20th century and a precursor of pop art, still active. He is a figurative artist and portraitist.
This oil on canvas measuring 130 / 97 cm. depicts a scene of visitors at the opening of an exhibition of Rothko's paintings. My work is a dialogue of… color and form, a dance between expressionism and pop art that captures the human essence. With oil paint, I display raw emotions in each brushstroke, immersing the viewer in a visual narrative that goes beyond the superficial. The vibrant tones fill the space with a revitalizing energy, and the figures suggest untold stories, inviting reflection and connection.

« Every day is full of moments; each moment reveals its individual flavor and texture, its unique beauty, and joy. This constant journey of discovery offers me a new inspiration to think and share. »
Jenifer Carey is a painter, printmaker, and sculptor based in Spain whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Italy and the United Kingdom. Music, especially jazz, is one of the main recurring themes in her art. In addition, she portrays her observations and life experiences in order to "capture a moment". She creates using oils on canvas.
