About this artwork
Berher 9 is part of a series presented to a Montreal design firm. Most of the pieces were selected for the lobby of the Rocabella in Montreal. Blending vintage and contemporary styles, its pearlescent metallic pigments, oxidized in places, evoke classic metal objects while adding a touch of chic to the décor.

Jennifer Miville, a painter and printmaker originally from the Lower St. Lawrence region, has a solid background including a BFA in Painting and Drawing from Concordia University and an award-winning background in set and costume design. She uses techniques that combine visceral and meditative gestures, exploring action painting and minimalism to create works balanced between raw energy and calm, where light, nature, and architecture engage in dialogue. Her refined works, dominated by black and white, invite intimate contemplation and a profoundly spiritual emotional experience.
