About this artwork
I was invited to participate in an exhibition at the Aurum Museum in Italy on this theme following a fire in the pine forest, so I created this canvas specifically for them. In this work, I sought to capture nature's spirit of resilience and survival. The expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colors illustrate the fiery strength of a tree that, despite adversity, twists to rise towards the sky. The rich acrylic texture reinforces the emotional dynamics… of the painting, inviting the viewer to contemplate the beauty in struggle and perseverance. The contrast between the warm tones of the ground and the cool colors of the sky evokes hope and renewal, making this piece not only an aesthetic addition to a space but also a poetic reminder of nature's ability to overcome adversity.
Painter Jenny d'Ormond has established herself as a specialist in 3D painting, a style where reliefs and colours come together to offer a unique immersion. Using mixed techniques such as mortar, sand or marble powder, she shapes her works in relief to bring her subjects to life; often a reflection on the soul and emotions. Her intense works express a cheerfulness giving the illusion of a three-dimensional life on the canvas. Jenny d'Ormond is known for her innovative approach to acrylic painting. Sometimes preferring to do without brushes, she works directly with her fingers, "sculpting" the paint to create a living, organic texture. This tactile process strengthens the connection between the artist and her work.
