About this artwork
In this work I use acrylics, collage, oil pastels and pigments to fuse cubism, expressionism and figurative realism. I explore the banality and colour of everyday life through common objects. The rich textures and earthy palette evoke nostalgia and a sense of a living past, reflecting moments forgotten in time but preserved in our memory. This painting adds a dimension of emotion and depth to any space, inviting personal reflection through the simplicity… of the everyday.
Jesús Barbeito is an experienced painter and sculptor based in Spain whose works have been exhibited nationally and in the United States. He describes the fundamental themes of his compositions as revolcing around everyday objects and still-life. In his artistic process, Barbeito employs mixed techniques with fabric, canvas, burlap, cardboard, collage, pigments, and acrylics.
