About this artwork
This watercolor was born from the desire to capture the marine stillness and vibrant light of the port of Ciutadella. In it, traditional lateen-rigged boats glide smoothly, ready to embrace the morning breeze.
Through a palette of blues and emeralds, the artwork creates a play of reflections where the sails dissolve into the ripples of the water. Combining realistic detail with impressionistic brushstrokes, I seek to convey the absolute tranquility… of a perfect day on the Menorcan coast. A piece designed to fill the space with freshness, serenity, and Mediterranean horizons.

As a veterinarian by profession, I have always felt the need to express my state of mind through painting, going through periods where that need is stronger. The time spent in the countryside and my longing to breathe the sea air have made me enamored with nature and the sea as great sources of inspiration. I am a self-taught painter who works with oil, acrylic, and watercolor, with a particular focus on watercolor recently. My works explore landscapes, seascapes, and portraits approached as landscapes, my gaze always fixed on light and color in general, and of the sea in particular, seeking atmospheric authenticity and the beauty of the everyday. In my view, my work, within a neorealist, eclectic style that fuses realism with impressionism and the luminism of Joaquín Sorolla, conveys a serene calm, a profound respect for time, and seeks to invite the viewer to a poetic and contemplative encounter with the world.
