This work is part of a series entitled "sensual tears" which includes two other previous works and which expresses through the "Siamese" opposition between man and woman, the mysteries and prohibitions of the fusional couple. This sculpture is an attempt to represent with lightness and elegance the intertwining of beings - the heads exchange, the trunks dissociate in a walking movement. I seek to express in this dynamic the primordial emotion of… our origin as human beings resulting from the union of Earth and Sky as it is taken up in myths such as in ancient Egypt.
JIFIE is a passionate sculptor, with a background marked by scientific training and extensive experience working with artisans, exploring wood, ceramics, and bronze. He combines contrasting materials and textures—raw or smooth—by sculpting forms that are sometimes soft, sometimes chaotic, somewhere between figuration and deformation, inspired by art brut and surrealism. In his dreamlike works, he reveals the vulnerability of the body and the mysteries of the human, provoking astonishment, confusion, and reflection on our inner dualities in the viewer.
